Blessings in Disguise Rev. Martin Preston
How do you respond to misfortune? For most people, the first response is to complain about their “bad luck.” Often, however, with the passage of time, we can look back upon that supposed tragedy and see it from a new perspective. Like cracking open a drab stone to reveal a dazzling diamond, we can see that the event wasn’t the calamity we thought it was, but an opening to something new and better.
It may be easy to see blessings in disguise in retrospect – we have the advantage of hindsight. But what happens when we train ourselves to look right now for the blessing?
